What a weekend! We had a FAB crop on Saturday. What a great bunch of ladies that were there. I dont get to scrap at these events but have fun none the less. It was just like old times, it seemed so long since a gang of scrappers were together.

Then yesterday, I awaited patiently for Tori to call me and give me trip updates from her drive home from Montreal. The bus had them home by 10:30PM last night yipppeee! How great to have her home safe and sound :)

Every Monday there is a new Technique of the Week posted on the foum posted by your Design Team Members - I'm going to share one this Morning that Kim Flogeras posted awhile back.

Flowers with Hearts...This is super easy...and check out the beautiful flower you will get...You need CS or PP, a heart punch (or you can make your own with the above directions) - You'll need about 5 hearts. Once you have the 5 hearts, fold each heart in half lengthwise. Using your fingers, round the top "bubbles" of the heart, so that it bubbles out from the fold (see picture)... Ink if you wish and TADA a flower. I used a prima and some glitter glue for the center of my flower...

October is What?

October is What? October, is only a week away - What is up with that? Seems like Summer just passed me by with a quick howdy doodie wave and left!

Ah well, not to despair to much as I can't say that I don't like Fall. It really is my fave time of year. I love watching our leaves turn colour, going and picking out those perfect pumpkins, Thanksgiving Dinner the list goes on and on.

I guess, I better warn you now rather then later that if you think you might like to see this line before it is gone to get up here sooner rather then later. Cause, some of the papers and embellies are sold out already!!!

Yellow Polka Dot Bikini Crop :)

Our very first Online Crop is July 1st - July 20th! I would love to have you all there scrapping with us online. At the same time I know you are wondering what in the world Nick is a ONLINE CROP? Let me first tell you it is free.......all you need to do is scrap. If you want to get together w/ some friends and scrap hey that is awesome too! Here is some more info. So ... what is an Online Crop?

1.) What is an online crop?
An online crop is an huge event hosted by our Design Team members and myself incorporating scrapbooking, games, challenges, PRIZES, chatting with other members and all around FUN! The point of an online crop is to get active and we encourage you to participate in the many games and challenges.
2) Online Crop Activities
The main attraction to the online crop are the challenges. You'll find layout challenges featuring many different themes and techniques, and Fast Scraps which are mini challenges intended to keep you thinking and scrapping on the ball! Most every challenge can be completed using basic supplies any scrapper should have in their supply. In the case that a particular product is required, an announcement will be made ahead of time in the Online Crop Forum, allowing plenty of time to gather necessary supplies beforehand. In the near future our online crops may feature scrapbooking classes. Make sure you check the class supply list in the Cyber Crop Forum or Crop informational page. Games are another big feature during the online crop. You can join in the fun playing bingo, guessing games, scavenger hunts and MORE! Remember... the more games and challenges you participate in the better your chances are of walking away with prizes and/or gift certificates!

4) How to get ready for the Online Crop This is simple!
Check out the Cyber Crop Forum (or the crop info page in the Events & News section) and jot down the schedule, sign up for classes and check for any other announcements regarding challenges or games. Also, don't forget to sign up for Bingo and send in your bingo cards early! We've got a number of different bingo games scheduled to keep the fun rocking all weekend long! Then gather all your favorite supplies and clear a scrapping space... preferably near your pc to optimize your crop enjoyment! Lastly, make sure you plan ahead and clear your busy schedule so you can spend as much time participating in the crop as you possibly can! You won't want to miss a bit of the action!

5) What to expect once the Online Crop begins?
Hold onto your hats for Fun! Fun! Fun! You'll suddenly begin to notice new threads popping up for games, challenges and friendly chit-chat in the Cyber Crop forum. Keep an eye on the Cyber Crop Forum, refreshing often to be sure you don't miss a new challenge or game. The rules for each challenge and game are posted clearly in each new thread. As always, if you have a question please feel welcome to shout it out. Our Design Team hostesses and myself are there to ensure you have fun and many members of our online community are seasoned veterans of online cropping!

6) How to find new challenges as they become available
The best way to stay in the know is to keep refreshing the Cyber Crop Forum! You'll see new threads with the challenge title and # and in case you get lost in a sea of new threads... there is always a master Crop thread highlighted and stuck to the top of the Crop Forum with an up to date listing of current and past challenges.

7) How are winners chosen
Our Design Team hostesses try their hardest to make sure everyone has the most fun they can have during an online crop. The only way to get awards is to participate, participate, participate! Most challenge and game winners are chosen by random drawing. Some games will state in the rules as they are posted, that the "first person with the correct answer" is called winner. It's important to read the rules in every new challenge or game. You also never know when you'll be randomly selected just for hanging around on the Message Board with us!

Just a little Excited!

I have so much going on right now, ladies!

First off let me tell you a little something. I miss you. If you are reading this I M-I-S-S YOU!
I miss you and the way things used to be that I gave my 2weeks notice at the hospital. I need to step back and re-evaluate The Big Picture (A little Grey's Anantomy line there for ya!) I will be back at the store full time shortly!

Also, our forum and gallery is growing like a weed with lots of water and sun. We have had over 150 people sign up on the forum in 1 week.

There is so much scrapbook chatter going on that I'm in a constant state of scrapbook mojo. There is a card swap being hosted. There are challenges from the awesome design team happenning. We are getting ready to host our 1st annual Yellow Bikini Crop online. And that is just the beginning of what we are going to be offerring. IF you signed up but haven't stopped back on please do it is like being at a huge crop and never having to leave your house! If you haven't signed up my invitation to you is always there! Bummerland...& Scrap Spaces

Where do you scrapbook?? I was just checking out the 2peas galleries...it left me a little bummed over my space :( Holy crap there's some serious denero being dumped on scrapbook rooms in this world!!! lol My space certainly doesn't look like anything out of a magazine, but it's mine gosh darnit and I love it...ok - I'm learning to accept it...but still - it's mine!! lol

Are you a dining table kinda gal?? Do you have your own room or closet or corner?? Where do you keep all your "stuff"?? I think most of us are collecters to a certain level - he he - I'm pretty sure that if Nic ever runs out of anything I could top her up ;)

I figured that this weekend, since I'm sure everyone will be Waaaaaay too busy enjoying the sun for a challenge, I'd keep it simply...where do you scrap?? PLEEEZE...show me whatcha got!! I'd abso-smurfly LOVE it if everyone could post a pic on the FB gallery of where you scrap :) I'll show you mine if you show me yours ;)

Black & White

I’m going to stand on my soap box here for a moment.

The comments that were put forth on the Blog totally hurt me and hurt me hard.

Have you ever poured your life and soul into something? Have you ever put blood, sweat and tears into something? Then have somebody come along and smack talk that something?

I now feel like I need to be heard from all of you. Not just Rob, My Mom and My Friends. But all you customers out there.

I want you to logically think to yourself….if CompuPro Scrapbooking was a thriving business would Nicole really step away and go get another job? Would she? Let me answer that for you…..NO she would not. Pretty Black and White Right?

If CompuPro Scrapbooking, was selling lots of inventory would you feel like there wasn’t anything NEW coming in? Let me answer that too for you…..NO you would not. The Black and White in that is that in order to Order in New Product the Inventory on hand must sell first. We take what sells and we order stuff in. Scrapbook hobbiest are not buying like they once did. We have to be very selective on what we do order in making sure that it is a seller.

In saying ALL THE ABOVE we are NOT going anywheres. We are just going with the changes of this hobby. People are cross border shopping more, dollar stores are dabbing in the hobby, online stores are taking their bite and then the ever impending giant Michaels.(That doesn’t even touch the fact that some you have enough stock at home to open your own store LOL) You look at a pie chart with all those taken into the grand scheme and your Local Scrapbook Store has a smaller piece of the pie in which to operate and bring you in those hot items. Which at one time we knew would sell and now take a gamble only hoping it will.

I have lots of ideas still for the store. Hollee, and I have a very busy Summer ahead of us to put those ideas into motion. Will they be for the better? I sure hope so!!!!

Now unto your regularly scheduled programming!

LET'S DO THIS THING!!!

Ok...by now, everyone should be ready to pull it alllll together :) The passed few days have been a crazy town with fender benders, sick kiddos and hubbies...and now, thanks to technical difficulties (ie - hubby reformated my computer and didn't install any of my software) I was not able to scan my layouts :( Sorry for that...In the mean time...I'll post the layouts that inspired our "quick and easy scrappin session" :)

Sooo - Here we go!!

Page "A"...

In your album, you should have:

1. A piece of black cardstock


2. A recipe card, complete with journaling


3. A piece of patterned paper with a little black on it, cut as directed.


4. A title


5. A piece of chipboard


6. A button.


7. A 5 x 7 Black & white picture

All pretty simple...Now - get read...get set....SCRAP!!! Your finished layout should look something like this :)

Page "B"...

For this page, you should have:

1. A piece of Tan cardstock


2. 4 squares of patterned paper


3. A title


4. A recipe card with journaling


5. A 4 x 6 color picture

Now...Get ready...................get set.....................................SCRAP!!! Your finished layout should look like THIS!!

Page "C"...

In this one, you should have the following:

1. 1 sheet of dark brown cardstock


2. 1 recipe card, complete with journaling


3. 1 title


4. 5 strips of patterned paper


5. 2 white cardstock rectangles (for mats)


6. 1 button


7. 2 black and white 4 x 6 pictures

Ok...are you ready??? get set..........................................SCRAP!! This is what your final layout should look like :)

So - there we have it...3 quick and easy layouts completed in 5-ish minute increments with great results:) Please post your creations in the Facebook gallery so we can all admire our handy work :) As soon as I overcome MY technical challenges, I'll post mine too:)

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER :)

Are you ready?? Is anyone still out there??? How many of you are about to finish up 3 pages in less than 20 minutes??? Say the word and we're good to go...I'm just waiting to hear from you :)

Part 4 (Be sure to read previous 3 posts!!!)

tonight...we'll work on journaling.

Page "A":
Take out your recipe card and think of single words to explain the picture, the thought, the memory etc. Journaling for this one can be point form. If - for example - you were using a picture about fishing...your journaling could look like this...

- tangled lines - salamander eggs - too windy - long drive - no worms - new rods - lost bobber - still fun :)

Don't sweat a long explination - point form it...short and sweet :) Then - toss it in the sleeve with the rest of the supplies for page "A".

Page "B":
Again, take out your recipe card and pretend you're showing someone the picture. what would you tell them? Write THAT on your card :) Toss it in your sleve :)

Page "C":
Anything goes :) Journal however you'd like. Remember though, all 3 of these are supposed to be short and sweet :) Keep it simple :) The - toss it in your sleeve :)

The last part for tonight is to figure out how you're going to put your title on. Do you have a cricut? Will you use stickers? What about Foam Stamps?? However you decide, pull that stuff out tonight (if you have enough time) and get ready for tomorrow night when we put everything together :)
